France: Verneuil-sur-Avre: Saturday 7th to Saturday 14th

A ‘greener’ alternative to travel by plane, we travel by mini-bus and ferry from Okehampton via Portsmouth and Le Havre to the small medieval moated town of Verneuil-sur-Avre where we stay in a simple, traditional French hotel. Our wonderful studio is in an abbaye founded in 1642. This area of France is a beautiful landscape of river valleys, small towns, ancient chateaux and abbeys not normally accessible on the average tourist itinerary. We make a visit to Chartres and the cathedral.
It is an opportunity to take a wider range of artistic materials than when travelling by plane.
